The repair detailed is still valid although it does not include instructions on
the method to determine the extent of the damage. If the indentation depth from
nominal can be measured we may be able to determine if the back side of the
moulding has burst.
Most damage in these cases is hidden as the outer ply is not visibly broken.
I would try to get a boroscope in the D box area, possibly via a hole in the wing
tip.
Having taken observations and screen dumps as evidence l would base the repair
on the std repair doc Mike has kindly supplied.
If aircraft is LAA their agreement will be required BEFORE making the repair.
