Subject: | Re: Wheel fairings |
Frans,
Reading your improving nose wheel fairing , did you achieve good results ?
Did you make more than one ? I am currently in need of a nose wheel fairing , Also
need a full set of leg fairings , including transitioning to fuselage and
main wheel pants / wheel fairing ..
Im pressed for time so cant make my own at moment , dont see point of making fresh
moulds when , improved ones are sitting on a bench somewhere ..
Regards
Kevin

is an optimum somewhere: for a 2D fairing (like for a strut or a wheel leg)
the optimal width to length ratio would be 1:3.7, with the widest point at about
30% of the length. For a 3D fairing things get a bit more complicated. Shorter
carries a higher penalty than longer, so if in doubt just make it longer.
