Gents, Kit A291, now an airplane registered as N11EU, took to the skies early today at 7FL6. I am very happy with the way the airplane flew. Nice and straight. I was surprised how relaxed I was during this first flight, a testament of how nice the Europa flies. I again want to thank all the people in this forum that put up with my questions during the 4 years it took to build N11EU and special thanks to Marty Mason and Bud Yerly. I also want to thank the Europa club for the help they provided finding some of the parts that were missing and I couldn't get through Europa and keeping alive the dream of flying this airplane one day. You can see the video of the first flight here: https://youtu.be/oThUb5GEcPs and the Europa club posted a beautiful picture commemorating the event, and a link to the same video, here: https://www.theeuropaclub.org/news/europa-first-flight-u-s-a-style Best Regards, Chris Martin Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=501170#501170

Congrats Chris! Looks great, and well done! Mono too.... sweet :-) Cheers, Pete C-GNPZ (and also a pile of parts still screaming to get into formation lol) On Wed, Mar 31, 2021 at 2:58 PM n7188u <chmgarb@gmail.com> wrote: > > Gents, > > Kit A291, now an airplane registered as N11EU, took to the skies early > today at 7FL6. > > I am very happy with the way the airplane flew. Just to clarify, the airplane is not painted. It is currently finished with a really interesting epoxy primer which I am still evaluating before I pass judgement. the cowling is not painted. Hence, it looks funny right now :? But it flies great!!! Chris Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=501173#501173

For design of "NACA Submerged Inlets" (search this) - lots of reports and drawings etc. However the attached should be enough. Not the corners on the duct must be sharp to force th eair stream to trip. Graeme Europa Tri-Gear
