Jerry,
When contacting Kart Components for the Brake Caliper Seals, what would
you ask for? E.g. does the Europa Brake Caliper have a specific make &
model name?
Thanks
James

Fred, try kartcomponents.com
Years ago I got replacement o-rings from them , I think they were a
supplier to Europa at that time. An inquiry might be worth a try.
I ordered an extra set too, but I just did a search, can=99t find,
sorry.

Fred,
I've had good luck simply buffing out the pucks and the caliper. It's
just aluminum, and rarely does the puck get damaged. It does get a bit
rough from corrosion. A freshly smoothed caliper and puck with a new O
ring seems to work well. I use a cotton wheel on a Dremel type tool and
some red jewelers rouge after a sanding with 1000 grit paper to shine it
up. O rings are tough to find. Especially the square edged ones. I'm
no help there.
I have no spare calipers as I have a Europa mono in the shop with some
serious gear/brake issues and may have to rebuild everything! I find it
odd that the gear and brakes passed inspection for the last two annuals
in this condition.
I'm afraid if your disk and caliper are in bad shape the cost of
replacements is getting harder. Consider the Berringer Brake unit as a
long term solution. I'm just too old to worry about long term, so I
spend the time and buff and clean.

Bud Yerly

I don=99t recall that I had a part number, someone told me they were t
he supplier of the brake and they had the parts so they were able to send me
what I described as a mono Europa brake.
They specialize in karts so I suspect the Europa order was unique and utili
zed their kart parts. They may not be producing that brake anymore but hopef
ully they may have the parts still around or have a source they could point y
ou toward.

Fred,
I=92ve got a used and cleaned up complete slave cylinder (caliper, pads and
bolts).
I also have a spare bleed screw.
In my bag of a mono brake I took apart and prepped for a spare is an O rin
g also which appears to be 1 3/8 ID 1 5/8 inch OD, 1/8 inch thick O ring is
the seal for the piston.
Imbedded are a couple of photos.

Fred,
I=92ve got a used and cleaned up complete slave cylinder (caliper, pads and
bolts).
I also have a spare bleed screw.
In my bag of a mono brake I took apart and prepped for a spare is an O rin

the seal for the piston.
The photos I sent to your personal email.

Subject: | Re: mono brake puck |
Gents,
Thanks so much for responses to my concerns about my leaking brake on the mono
wheel.
Special thanks to Ron P for the link to the how to youtube which revealed what
had previously been a mystery to me about how the brake works and how (to find
and) to replace the O ring.
Also to Bud for the offer of a complete new brake set up.
Ive spent the day disassembling, buffing out some incipient corrosion, repainting
and reassembling my unitmanaged to source what appears to be the proper size
O ring from local auto parts store, so Im all set to reassemble and pressure
bleed the system.
Much obliged,
Fred
