The problem came about when some organizations sold rides in warbirds and other unusual aircraft under the pretense that they were flight instruction. As a result, you are now required to have a Letter of Deviation Authority (LODA) to receive or provide aircraft-specific training in an aircraft certificated in the experimental category. To get a LODA for your airplane, just follow this link: https://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/vintage_experimental/examiners/media/LODA_Template.pdf The form is easy to complete, is all done on line, there is no cost and you will receive your LODA by email in a few days.
