Hi Martin. I have the same 4 pin modules and had a similar problem. When I changed
to one of the circuits my 914 ran rough. I bought the new ignitech modules
and still had the same issue. The only way I rectified it was to buy new rotax
modules. What I did find out during my investigations was that the ignition
modules are wired up to the coils differently for a rotax 912 then a 914. On a
912 A module runs 2 upper and 2 lower plugs but on the 914 module A runs all
the top plugs and B runs all the bottom.

      Martin,
I had the same problem. Bought expensive new modules and after a lot of messing
about - it was the stator that was defective!!

Swap the red wires over - if the problem changes from L to R (or R to L) - stator
fault. Also try the same on the pickups.
