Mine kept breaking and corroding. CK Exhausts sells 95 mm springs which have survived several years! After researching on the web I found someone with the same problem. What he found was there are 3 ports that are drilled in each carb and the outside plugged with steel balls and the epoxy applied over them to seal any leaks. With time the epoxy cracks allowing air to leak in. I resealed on both carbs and the roughness went away. I'll keep that on file for future reference. In my case, I consulted the Rotax Forum & saw advice from an A & P mechanic who stated that even though Rotax advise to balance the Carbs at idle rpm, in his experience he found that balancing the Carbs at 3500rpm gave a better result. So I tried it & it seems to have solved the problem.
