Thanks Bud and John. Apologies for not replying earlier. Thanksgiving morning I flew to a grass field nearby and when I went ahead to takeoff found that the engine was only developing 4000 RPM (relatively smoothly). Aborted takeoff and two days of troubleshooting later discovered that the diaphragm on the port carb was shot. Luckily found someone with a spare and was able to get back home safely yesterday. It was not easy to find the culprit and had some Rotax savvy friends baffled. A check with analog carb balance gages finally pointed to the root cause. Its true that my engine sat in its crate after overhaul for three years and flown since March but never imagined it would need another carb overhaul so soon. Go figure as I was told this is rare. Crappy parts? Anyway, drama resolved and thanks for the filter info. I will look into it today. Best, Chris Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=504963#504963

Pre-empting Bud will probably know the answer... Does anyone know if repositioning the brake caliper 180 degree to the upper position on a mono interfere with the rudder cables when the main gear is in retracted position? Thanks... Only 90 (in line with the swingarm) is all you'll get with major tunnel surgery. And yip.
