    Thanks Tennent I think my engine as the longer fuel pump. But thanks for the pointing it out to me , I am always grateful for advise . I will add a photo later.     The earlier model fuel pumps have pressed together bodies; later are screwed together and have an oil drain on the underside of the pushrod body; attached picture is of later model fitted.     Pete, Refer to the manual. On XS, you adjust the bolts for the spacing with no load and a new block. You actually set it up before installing in the plane I think. As the block compresses with time it will actually get to the point where the plates dont touch the block when adjusted to 79 mm and no load. With load the block will work as a shock, but the height of the nose of the plane will be less. I suppose you could get to the point where there is prop strike danger.
