I know this is an old topic, but with my vintage 90s 912S having had its mounts
replaced with new and softer ones, I am now experiencing kickback an want to
preserve my starter sprag.
I see that the conair aftermarket module is still available. Are there any other
reasonably priced options (with lower shipping leadtime for a Canuck)?

You might want to order a set of ignition modules from Ignitech. You can check
them out here:

I only paid $360 US for a pair with shipping.
The company is in the Czech Republic.
Sure made a difference on starting my late 90's 912 ULS.

Are you seeing misfires above 5000rpm (as per their bulletin)? Do you have an
estimate how many watts it uses?
