Subject: | Matronics Govrnor Mk 3 in UK Europa |
I am currently prevented by an attack of sciatica from doing much physical work
on my Europa build so have been trying to assemble all the paperwork and references
I will need for LAA Engineering to clear my various mods.
I have fitted a Matronics Governor Mk 3 to the trim circuit so that I can have
a stick-top trim switch in addition to the one on the panel. I cant find any reference
to this as a mod anywhere in the LAA documentation. I am sure I am not
the only or first builder to incorporate this.
Has anyone else in the UK on this WhatsApp group fitted a Governor and what was
the paperwork required? Im hoping that its absence from the LAA mod listings
mean that it might be a Trivial Change but I strongly suspect not!
Any relevant info welcome.
in friendship

Gents
Like all of you, Im familiar with the phrase, a good landing is any landing which
you can walk away from.
Ive just been introduced to a follow oni.e.,a really great landing is one in which
you can use the airplane again.
Having walked away from stuffing my Europa in some trees, Im now on my way to getting
it back in shape so I can use it againIll keep you posted as I proceed.

Subject: | Matronics Email & Email List Server Back Online... |
Dear Listers,
Last week the Matronics email server developed a system problem. I was on travel
and unable to address it until today.
I'm happyy to report the server is 100% back online now and fully operational.

Pete...your empathy is much appreciated...

surprisingly, I=99ve yet to experience heartbreak, though
I admit to some self-flagellationthus far, I=99ve only
found damage which I characterize as superficial, though some suspicions
remain
most of the trees I bumped into were young Alders which swayed
and bended quite a bit, so most of the impacts at approx. 50 kts were
not harsha couple of Shore Pines OTOH were much sturdier and
when one snapped off, the sharp end gouged a ragged rip into the
fuselage underside which happily, did not rupture any fuel lines.
much gratitude that I didn=99t hit a building or vehicle
or a couple of pedestrians
thanks to the composite construction vocabulary, everything
looks repairable, even my (totally custom) lower cowlingI=99
m very grateful that my fears of damage to the primary structure,
particularly the interfaces between the CM, the engine mounting frame
and the airframe were unfoundedam assembling new blades in the
hub of my ground-adjustable propwhen complete I=99ll have
a go at starting the engine
my back injuries, not resulting from the crash, but totally
avoidable if I=99d have remained in the cockpit instead of blindly
exiting the aircraft and falling 12 feet to the ground...are slowing me
downbut healing nonetheless
