Is anyone up for a DOTH fly-in to Halfpenny Green (Wolverhampton) airfield on Thursday 20th June ? So far, the weather looks good, and there are good reports of the new restaurant/cafe that has been recently refurbished. If so, let me know and I will book a lunchtime table. PPR is required (either through the website or by phone), and further details can be found on their website.I will plan to arrive for Noon. https://www.wolverhamptonairport.co.uk -------- Bob Dawson Europa XS TG || 912 ULS || G-NHRJ || Dynon Skyview || PilotAware || SmartAss3 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=513660#513660

My interior is all painted minus the baggage area and foot floor where I used lightweight speaker cover type carpet. I used Zolatone over epoxy primed glass. No Expancell. Despite being told Zolatone would not hide much, not true. It looks just fine and so far very happy. However, my airplane is noisy but can't tell if much more or less than other Europas with interior. I am getting used to it. When I first flew it it was very light but quite spartan inside. Now with exterior paint and added seat stuff and avionics it is up to 820#. With the DUC prop and a 912ULS the takeoff performance is amazing (it's fun to get compliments from the tower controller) and cruise not bad at around 130-135 knots. Very happy. Ron, Expancel is great stuff. I happened to have enough for my project but always wondered what could replace it. The only epoxy filler I have seen that looks like Expancel is the West System 410 (Per the SDS: A blend of thermoplastic polymer microspheres and inorganic amorphous silicates). It has that tan color but it also has glass. It does have plastic copolymers and phenols so it may be close to Expancel. You can buy a small can of 410 and try see how it compares.
