Hi All I used a mountain bike brake leaver with integral master cylinder. I mounted it on the control column so that the lever was to hand without removing your hand from the stick. A great success, the volumns of the master cylinder matched the Europa brake slave. Only think is to top up you have to take the device from the control column by undoing the handle bar bracket and bending it over to access the reservoir with gravity directly underneath it. I top up annually at Permit time but it never needs much. Too much going on in a mono on touch down to operate two levers with one hand in my book. There are about 25 units left in stock; there will be no further production runs. Yes, the setup is remarkably simple. The only way to access the reservoir is to remove the mounting screws and lower the assembly. Fortunately, this should only be required for a complete fluid change. During normal use the rubber telescoping diaphragm on the top of the reservoir allows for the transfer of brake fluid from the master to the slave cylinder to accommodate brake pad wear. When its time to replace the pads, simply compress the puck back into the slave cylinder forcing the fluid back up into the master cylinder reservoir. Also, during the brake bleeding process, I found it much easier to remove the entire system (master, parking brake, slave, and brake line) as an assembly from the airplane. Fortunately, there is sufficient room to fish the slave cylinder through the landing gear mounting frame to allow removal of the assembly. ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 07:21:24 AM PST US From: Jerry Rehn <rehn@rockisland.com> Subject: Re: Europa-List: Re: Oshkosh 2024 I have had the same unfortunate experience with Europa. In late January I placed my order for trigear kit and was assured that 90 days would be a reasonable time for them to get everything together. They insisted on full payment upfront as it was a special order, as time slipped apologies and then excuses and now no response to inquiries! Its now approaching 6 months and many inquiries are unanswered. Very disappointing. This was just before Karen Pool left the company after working there for 17 years. Swift seem to make their money doing other things and the Europa aircraft is very much a side-line these days operated by staff part-time only on some days of the week. I am wondering if these is the appetite for any younger members of the Europa Club to "take it off their hands" and operate a spares and replacement parts operation at least ? It may be of interest to swift themselves as this lack of focus has not gone unnoticed ? Just a thought Regards Trevor New Zealand On 18/07/24, 2:25 AM, "Jerry Rehn" <owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com on behalf of rehn@rockisland.com> wrote: I have had the same unfortunate experience with Europa. Two years. Ordered an engine mount with Tom Hesp earlier this year, took about a month to dispatch, very happy with this. Other small orders took between 2 & 4 months. Europa's spare parts sideline is certainly not their main focus. All I was able to do was follow up consistently with Europa every 2 weeks to inquire on the order progress.
