Just could not help myself... After rolling the motor over and hearing air escaping
past the exhaust valves on three cylinders it was thought better to pull
the heads off and descale all the plaque than hope it blows out the exhaust on
startup... So off came #1 cylinder head and the dental work began... At 1300hrs
everything on the valve train measured up as new; zero wear... For some unknown
reason the valve stem seals require replacing... this will be a really nice
motor when the scrub up is all done.

Yes its turning out to be a good purchase. Bit more work than expected to bring
it up to scratch, but so far it is measuring up very well. It will be a stop
gap for 181 while the 912iS gets overhauled and prepped for installation.
