Why does it surprise you? Europa/Swift, although UK based, supplied kits worldwide
- they don't mention FAA, DGAC, CASA etc either. The same as any Piper or
Cessna SB doesn't mention the FAA.
If the LAA want to make this SB into a MPD they will.

Subject: | Europa as a tow plane? |
Hi,
Been building a Europa XS Long wing variant (s/n A193). Since I=C2=B4m also
a
glider pilot I had the crazy idea on adapting the Europa as a tow plane.
Has it been done?

Not in the UK Wlad, I though of it but I had access to a Pawnee and an Ikaru
s.(C42)
An Ottfur release might be the answer but a strengthening would probably be n
eeded along the inside or outside of the fuselage. The extra weight might no
t be worth it.

The Europa mono has been used as a tow plane ex Walter Binder built a Classic Europa
monowheel with many mods, such as fuel tanks in the wings, a XS style tailwheel
before Europa did it and flaps independent from gear, but yes he used
it for towing gliders too. He is in Germany.
