Sounds great. But why have the speeds changed? Changing from 80 to 100 hp should not affect any speeds. Please explain. -------- John Wighton Europa XS trigear G-IPOD Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=515309#515309

The 80hp uses a 2.27:1 reducer, the 100hp uses a 2.43:1 reducer. So the engine rpm is higher on the 100hp for the same prop rotation speed. The prop was not repitched. So the 100hp redlines well before the propeller load can prevent engine rpm runaway. Its like putting a jensen interceptor motor into a morris minor without changing the diff ratio or rear tyres to suit Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=515310#515310

Another 2hrs in the air today proofing the engine swap. Smooth as a button... Temps rock solid at 80/80 the whole way on 43% power; a real joy to fly... signing AF out for unrestricted flight op's Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=515311#515311 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/f5d2ae4d_324c_4c71_9c7e_ec5a8d2ba0bc_214.jpeg

I am glad you are happy with the results Area 51! I agree, the increased power is appreciable especially getting through the am I flying or still on the ground phase which can be less than confidence inspiring sometimes, not to mention the increase in cruise speed. I hope you calculated the extra drag that opening the lower cowling had on the aerodynamics prior to that ? > On 14 Mar 2025, at 07:33, Europa-List Digest Server <europa-list@matronics.com> wrote: > > * > > ================================================= > Online Versions of Today's List Digest Archive > ================================================= > > Today's complete Europa-List Digest can also be found in either of the > two Web Links listed below.
