Ron, In UK speed limits for car + trailer are 60mph on motorways and 50 mph on single track roads. In EU limits generally slightly lower. I never had any hesitation towing 100+ miles at those sort of speeds nor any problems. Never concerned about head winds, nor axle/tyre temperature Didn't have a specific inflation pressure- just blew them up sufficiently that they were not bulging under load. Would not have occurred to me to put the trailer & plane on a car trailer. Happy trailing!, David On 2025-08-26 03:06, rparigoris wrote: > > Hi Group > We have an open Factory Mono XS Trailer. > It has 4.80 x 8 tires we just replaced. Q1 - 65 mphQ2 - Once the trailer was fully loaded, I would take the traile r to a scale then divide that weight by two. I would then check the tire ma nufacturer's website for a load chart for "that" tire. I would then add 10- 15 psi safety factor and use that pressure. Softer ride and proper thread w ear.Q3 - Individual call. Each person knows how well their equipment is sec ured.=C2-Q4 - At each fuel stop. But I use a handheld IR thermometer. No use having a burnt hand AND a burnt bearing.Q5 - With regular stops to allo w the tires to cool, my only limitation is how much I want to run each day. =C2-Q6 - Again, owner/driver decision on loading your trailer and then wh ether you load the trailer onto and off the trailer without the use of a to w vehicle. Otherwise, you are limited to rear mounting in order to push the trailer on and pull it off.Just my 2 cents or 2 pennies. This would also be easier with the long wings. Will post pics when completed.
