Joel........ Hard to believe the two topics are about engines as
opposed to airframes. If your members/fly in attendees were paying any
attention at all to Rutan, they would know his opinion of power options.
There is plenty of websites dedicated to the Rotary and the Subi....
Neither one of which is suitable for a Long EZ or especially a Defiant.
Real engines equal Real reliability and performance. The day might come
where this thinking is not absolute but it's not here yet. "Advanced
Canardism" should focus on airframes and flying as opposed to "engine
options" which are very unproven.
