Some think a 320 or 360 is best. Others think a Soob or a Mazda or a ROCKET MOTOR (!!) are more appropriate. Experimental aviation == builder's choice. Build what you're willing to test. Given the price of AvGas and "real" engines these days, I think alternative engines is a VERY appropriate topic of conversation for homebuilders. I've followed the saga of John Slade's rotary installation/operation and, if it doesn't qualify as "Advanced Canardism", I'm not sure what will. I'm thankful that these guys are willing to experiment and (more important) share their "lessons learned" with those of us who are sitting around waiting for the "status quo" to advance past... oh... 1985.
