Merry Xmas folks..
Just back from a great little Xmas flight down the road to a place called
Whakatane. Spent the night there for Xmas then came home today.
The airspace was VERY quiet with the controller at Tauranga telling us that
we were the only VFR on radar in the whole of the North Island... it was
Xmas lunch time though !
As usual it was great to pass the slow spam cans.
Took off from Whakatane behind a Cherokee, flew 13 minutes to Tauranga,
landed, had a short discussion as to where I should park with the controller
then heard the Cherokee at the edge of the zone calling for joining
instructions.... GREAT !
Had to wait in Tauranga at a friends place while a front went through
Auckland then had a very pleasant ride home.
Adds to the whole journey of building.
