Although many of the older engines have been updated. It's best to count the number of teeth on your ring gear. --> Falco-List message posted by: George Richards <george@falco.co.nz> Hi Charlie.. Unfortunately these side motor style starters don't fit in a Falco.. Things are very tight in there. Several builders have tried and reported problems... see the skunkworks, there is quite a bit written on starters. The only comfortable fit is the in-line style of starter. I think these starters are how B & C and others started out life. At least where they got their first brain wave from. While we're on the subject of gadgets, have any of you Falco builders considered an EFIS system for your bird? If so, what system are you considering and what features lead you to choose that system? Has anyone looked into OP Technologies? Or Chelton Sport or Pro? Al Aitken

Al.. while not nearly the same level.. I have the Dynon efis in my Falco.. prime consideration was cost really. I only want a VFR aeroplane so this does everything I need. Very economical and reliable. And a lot lighter than everything than any steam driven equivalent. I also have a hatred for vacuum systems.. Hence the main decision in the first place.
