As far as the fuselage frames are concerned, I cannot help you with the other methods but I can describe a little bit about what I did. For every builder, the best method to build something changes depending upon many variables. I chose the scarfing method because it sounded like the easiest for me and I could envision all the steps. I spoke with Larry Black along the way for help and suggestions. I'll try to explain this with links to my website. First, I laminated the two halves of a given frame, frame 9 for example. Make sure the halves have extra length for the scarf cut and then some. September 30, 2005 Then I made the scarfing jig shown here with my method for lining it up accurately with the table saw. Make the cut right for a couple test pieces first to make sure you have it down. You have to be careful with which side you take wood off to match the other half of the frame. I used a 10 to 1 scarf, 12 to 1 would be better. October 2, 2005 The jig I used for joining the halves is shown here. I used the backboard and the mold the keep the frame halves flat and in the correct shape while joining them. October 13, 2005 I did screw up making the scarf cut once and I had to redo two of the frame halves I previously laminated. Dissappointing, but an easy fix with the mold already made. Attention to detail is always important, but that's true for any method you use. If you have any more questions about the way I did it, ask away. Above all, use the method that you are the most comfortable with. -Ryan Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=91424#91424 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message falco-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Falco-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/falco-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/falco-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
