Bristol" Ed, since I accepted your offer to have the mock-up PSRU in Florida in 2-3 days, 2 weeks have passed, and as usual, not a word from you. So I guess your offer is as usual: worth nothing. Tore ----- Original Message ----- From: HMS23TURBO@aol.com To: tf51@c2i.net Sent: Sunday, August 21, 2005 6:32 PM Subject: Tore's PSRU Tore, Please let us handle this on a different level that what is going on now. If it continues as is, we'll end up with no FEW, no PSRU development, and no support for the aircraft or any of it's systems. I have asked you this before and will once again. I must test each and every unit before it ships. After putting a lot of thought into this, I simply will not ship something as critical as a PSRU without conducting proper testing procedures. I would rather close the business and go broke than taking the chance of hurting someone with an unknown, untested product bolted to their project. If I simply sent your unit to Norway, untested and we then had a problem that needed correction - what do we do? send it all the way back? We can avoid any of this by testing for the prescribed 10 hours first. I understand that your project is at a point that you can't go forward without a PSRU. I assume that this means that you are at the stage of setting up the cowling, installing all of the engines systems, and doing all the details of the firewall forward. All of this work (months of work) can be completed using a mockup unit. I have a mockup PSRU available in Syracuse NY (was just used to set up a Lancair Legacy) as we speak (it can be shipped from my customer at a moments notice). This unit has been installed and used in several aircraft to accomplish just what I mentioned. Let me ship it to you at my cost and get you back underway. As a further security, I'll send a brand new (one that was purchased for my TF years ago) CAM-FIRE PSRU for you to have and hold onto until your new unit arrives. I have created a real problem by moving to our new location, in the fact that we have to create a "special area" (cinder block walls, catch fence, and noise suppression items) to run our test stand. You can only imagine the noise and safety issues the "locals" have with constant high power runs that are needed to properly develope these things. I had no problem doing this work prior to the move but now it is a big deal. The airport has undergone a lot of scrutiny as of late and has many sets of eyes on it and what happens there on a daily basis. I have to be quite careful not to piss anyone off and be forced to relocate yet again. I tried to have an engine dyno room modified for this use but the prop noise and air movement proved to be an issue. So I'm back to doing this work outside, across the airport, in an area that has just (completed last week) been repaired from the damage it suffered from rains in February. No problem, but I need to get set up again. Please take this offer of a mockup unit and get back to work on your project and allow me to do what is prudent and test the unit in a manner consistent with what we have done in the past, and have proven to be successful. Tore, I can have the mock up in Florida in two or three days, or Norway in a week or so. This is really the best solution. What we are building (experimental A/C, with automotive engines, PSRUs) are inherintly very dangerous, we need to do all we can to minimalize the risks. By testing everything that that keeps them in the air we can really increase the chances of success. I realize that you are at you wits end with me and likely underway with some sort of legal action, but I ask you to slow down a bit and let me do what is right. I am a one-man show and have a huge amount on my plate. Your PSRU is a priority to me, but I do have other things that occupy parts of my day. We will get the tests done and you satisfied. Please allow me to do this in the right manner. Or, if you prefer, I will simply return any money that has been collected by me for this project. I realize that money was deposited for your PSRU with Jim Kern prior to my involvement. That money will need to be collected from that end. Ed
