I have a Glasair 1RG and a 2 -FT sitting in my hanger. As much as it would pain
me, I'll move you weather vane for only the cost of avgas to get it here.
As I get about 30 mpg in my 2-FT, trimmed out to about 60% power above 5000 ft.,
I figure I can travel in it as cheaply as my Honda Civic on certain trips -
direct routing and all, plus no speeding tickets!
If the gas is too much for you, power back, lean of peak operations, and enjoy
the trip and don't buy the next best glass geewizzmo. Spend the $$$ on a good
hamburger and friendship.
