Subject: | Mogas in a Glasair II |
Hi group,
My name is Gerd, I`m new to this list.
Recently I have started to look around for a new plane and have come
across the O320 powered Glasair Super II .
Acc to Petersen this engine can have a MoGas STC, my big QUESTION is :
are the other parts of a Glasair , especially the tanks, MoGas proof?
Thanks for any helpful contribution!
Gerd

As long as there is no ethanol in the gas you'll be OK.

Yes, Gerd, absolutely no ethanol! I ran some test samples in 10% ethanol laced
mogas and saw a sticky film develop over the surface that is sure to clog-up
your entire system.

...and, at least under FAA regulations, no STC is required for experimental aircraft.
