According to Roger Heisdorffer, who has built a few of each (kind of a business
for him) and has owned both of them, (Glasair, Glastar, RV-9), the RV's wing
loading is such that it will pound the daylights out of you in turbulence.

When performing an IFR landing you have to slow Glasairs down miles away
from an airport and have the prop set and gear and flaps down way before
entering the glide slope.

How so? I know there are more RVs around but how is support now from
Glasair in
terms of parts availability, MX and upgrades? How does a Glasair fly
compared
to RV? I am looking for under 100k budget for one equipped for IFR and can
use
for training and instrument rating. How is insurance for a low time pilot?

When flying my Glasair and hear pilots talk about turbulence, I ask; "what
turbulence?!!"
