From: mppalmer@aol.com Following up on my AutoZone "Mighty Lift!" brand lift strut on the copilot-side canopy. (Of an early Glasair II.) It works fine. The stroke is 3/4 of an inch shorter than the OEM gas spring. That means that the canopy doesn't open quite as much as originally. (Like, 5 to 10 degrees at the top?) If it bothers me enough, I might make a hooked style metal extension for the bracket on the canopy. That would hold the canopy open more and would also put a "down force" on the canopy when the canopy is closed. (Instead of the up force as now.) Mike Palmer <><
