Properly built Fixed gear Glasairs are faster than RG's. Remove the RG landing
gear and install fixed gear with Van's wheel pants.

1. 12:51 AM - How long between pump bumps in a Glasair RG? (mppalmer@aol.com)

Subject: Glasair-List: How long between pump bumps in a Glasair RG?
I'm helping a buddy prep his Glasair I RG for Return to Service after 10 years.
(Long story.)
I'm an FT pilot, so have no experience with the hydraulics on the RG.
My buddy had cracked his pump housing when he first built the plane and so always
had a slow leak at the pump.
He said that, in flight, the pump would come on about every 5 minutes to hold the
gear up.
He found someone selling old housings. We used that to rebuilt the pump. So far
the longest time we've had since bump is 25 minutes. (That's on jack stands.)
We're wondering what the typical time between bumps are in flight.
(This is the 12 volt, dual winding pump, if that matters.)
Thanks,
