| Subject: | UK J160 Rudder jam |

I witnessed a rudder jam on a Jabiru 160. The aircraft was landing when
the jam occurred and subsequently as it was left with a 'left turn' the
aircraft left the runway and turned over in the soft ground after the
      noseleg dug in.
In the UK there was a mandatory inspection on the control surfaces and
the aircraft in question had been checked 2 months ago.
I have posted pictures in the photo section of this group.

Worth bearing in mind if you have or know folk with this aircraft,
thankfully the injuries were minor but different circumstances this
could have had more serious outcome.

The landing was into wind on a light wind day, the runway in use
requires and offset approach as the hangar is on the end of the runway,
a small 'jink' is required to line up, I believe it was this small
alignment correction that initiated the jam. The aircraft in question is
a few years old and has been flown in lots of different conditions
      without problems up till now.

      Regards, Clive James
