All,
i have the 3300 in a 601 XL. it has the original low Ram Air Ducts with the plug
wires going thru the duct at the plugs. i have glassed in the dams between the
plugs and can move the temps around but can not get all of them in a safe operating
range. on the left side i got #2 down to 270 degrees but #4 went up to
340 plus. i put a longer dam at #4 and it came down to 285 BUT #6 went to 353
even at low power settings. i have installed the dams - ground off an 1/8" at
a time - removed them and put them back at different angles. nothing i do seems
to work. i can't help but think there is not enough air in the shallow duct
to cool all three cylinders on one side. the right side 3 cylinders seem to
be O.K.
has anyone had this problem and have you solved it ?? i know the prop is coming
up on the left side and down on the right side so it changes the angle of entering
air, but how do i get them all cool.
thanks for any help.
i have 85 hrs on it and still fighting CHT's

Hi Bobby
If you can please give a call, I have some questions about your
installation so I can direct in the right direction on reducing your CHT=B9s.
