    Bobby, I also have the 3300 in a 601xl. After several adjustments with the air dams I placed a small scoop on the upper intake of cylinders 2,4,6 which evened everything out, but would still get too high in high power climb. I then extended the flange lip on the bottom of the cowl about an inch and 1/2 by riveting a piece of aluminum .o25. Never have any problems now. Attached is picture. David Brown N601EX KC5YU Time: 06:07:34 AM PST US From: BobbyPaulk@COMCAST.NET Subject: JabiruEngine-List: cooling All, i have the 3300 in a 601 XL. it has the original low Ram Air Ducts with the plug wires going thru the duct at the plugs. i have glassed in the dams between the plugs and can move the temps around but can not get all of them in a safe operating range. on the left side i got #2 down to 270 degrees but #4 went up to 340 plus. i put a longer dam at #4 and it came down to 285 BUT #6 went to 353 even at low power settings. i have installed the dams - ground off an 1/8" at a time - removed them and put them back at different angles. nothing i do seems to work. i can't help but think there is not enough air in the shallow duct to cool all three cylinders on one side. the right side 3 cylinders seem to be O.K. has anyone had this problem and have you solved it ?? i know the prop is coming up on the left side and down on the right side so it changes the angle of entering air, but how do i get them all cool. thanks for any help. i have 85 hrs on it and still fighting CHT's DO NOT ARCHIVE Bobby N131BP

    Hi Bobby This is what improved my CHTs to no end, I now have greater than 5 inch water gauge pressure diff. from inside the air duct to inside the engine compartment (cowling).
