I want to see if I can make a different intake manifold system...one that will more centrally mount the Rotec TBI that I have, and get more even fuel/air distribution. I would have to tie my own plane up for a week or so in order to make the necessary parts, and it would be a whole lot simpler to do it if I had another dummy engine to measure and test fit parts on. That's why it isn't necessary for it to be a complete engine, just so it is complete enough to have block, cylinders, heads, intake tubes, and oil pan. I could then have the dummy engine on my work bench, and it'd make fitting the experimental parts a whole lot easier. What I have in mind is an updraft manifold. Once the building and the fitting of the parts is done, I would return the engine unharmed. I'll be heading out for the Mid-Eastern Regional Fly-In at Urbana, Ohio in a little while so I won't be able to see my email until Sunday late.
