Subject: | Re: REFIT INTAKE PIPES |
Hi Peter-
With what I've learned from using the Rotec TBI so far, this unit
flows more than enough air to suit the 2200, so a single unit
throttle body on a single plenum is the way I'm going to proceed.
I've been toying with the idea of just bringing my plane home from
the hangar, pulling the engine, and building the intake manifold
right here in my nice, cozy, heated workshop. I could have the plane
back home here, the engine out, and on my workbench in less than a
day, and be able to operate on it in comfort. I think that's the way
to go, what with fall approaching, and chillier weather on its way.
You mentioned the SS bends...I found 1-1/2" SS bends at Aircraft
Spruce, but not the 1-1/4" which I think the intake tubes are. I
haven't done a search for the smaller tubes yet, so I *would* like to
have the address for the tubes that you offered, Peter. I'm also
wondering why aluminum tubes wouldn't be suitable for the lower ends
of the intake tubes. It seems to me like they would work ok.

Subject: JabiruEngine-List: Replacement Oil Filters for 3300
List,
Need to order some oil filters for my 3300, but can not find reference to
filter in USA to replace "RYCO Z386" that came on engine new. I thought the
replacement was a Honda or ? auto engine.
Any Help,
Thanks,
Mike

Lynn,
I could not find Al tubes bends of correct diameter although I spent a good
time looking. Al tubes would save weight.
I have attached a link to the source of my SS tubes and bends. They are high
quality food grade product.
Doing the job at home sounds like the way to go; or you could start in the
hangar and then decide.

Thanks for the info, Peter. I'll have a look around the US first, and
if I have to, I'll use your vendor.
What I like about doing it at home is the concrete floor....lets the
engine hoist roll much easier than the carpeted dirt of the hangar .
But you are correct, it would be easier to start at the hangar, and
then decide...based on temperature, etc. No reason to fold those
wings unless I have to.
