Static max RPM with a Tennessee Propeller 64x34 is 2820 RPM and EGT's 1200F +/- 20F. In flight with the Tennessee prop, climb was 500 fpm or about half that with the Prince prop. Cruise about 4 mph faster or 74 mph at 2850 RPM. .....* * *Chuck,* *I'm in the midst of looking for a better prop too and am considering going to a ground adjustable but before I do I'm sending my Tennessee 64x34 prop back to TPI,Inc. for them to see if they can improve my WOT rpm. I am using a Sensenich prop on my 701 w/2200A #2456 with a maximum RPM of 2970 in both climb and wot cruise. The prop specifications, according to a representative from Sensenich, was originally requested by Pete at Jabiru USA. The prop number is W-64-"PJ"-36. A recent conversation with Pete about this prop confirmed the RPM's above. I recently purchased this completed plane and I am working through cooling issues. To mount the oil cooler where I wanted it required the removal of the muffler and I will add a 4 into 1 header to the existing primary pipes and will jet the Bing accordingly. Chuck, is'nt the P-tip designed to flex for climb and cruise ? I generally cruised at 72 mph at 5800 rpm (6500 redline) but it was thirsty at 6 gph at that speed, which was about 85-90% power. -------- Thom Riddle Buffalo, NY Kolb Slingshot SS-021 Jabiru 2200A #1574 Tennessee Prop 64x34 A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that works. - John Gaule Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=264596#264596 ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 03:14:37 PM PST US From: "Chuck Deiterich" Subject: JabiruEngine-List: RE: Propeller and RPM Below is a quote from Zenith about the CH701 and the Jabiru 2200. It is why I asked about my 701/Jabiru performance. "With the Jabiru 2200 engine installed, the STOL CH 701 boasts excellent S.T.O.L. performance while being very economical to own and operate. Take-off roll is less than 100 feet and rate of climb is an impressive 800 fpm. Cruise performance is 80 mph, and stall speed is 30 mph. The design can also be built from component kits or scratch-built from available drawings (blueprints) and manuals." Chuck D.
