and that she is even giving out the name of the other supplier their part
number. Whilst I'm sure we all appreciate her help, I bet her boss doesn't>
I think you are wrong.
She helped to satisfy a customer and she wasn`t going to get the sale
anyway. She would get full marks if I was her boss. If you please the
customer you can`t go wrong in the long run

Greg,
There are different schools of thought on how to run a business. One of them says
that helping your customer regardless of whether you make a sale today is a
good investment in long term relationship that will in time make you much more
profitable. The other is to rape your customers while you can. Long-term vs
short-term thinking. The short-term mentality is one of the root causes of the
current global recession.
Based on my limited dealings with Jabiru USA thus far, I'm pretty sure that Pete
Krotje is in this business for the long-term with a long-term mentality.

The "Bing Carburetors Aircraft Tuning and Parts Manual" (2007) states
that the diaphragm in carb should be replaced every two years regardless
of hours. Has anybody done this?

Not me.
I had my Bing for 3-1/2 years, and in discussing this matter with the
folks at Bing, they said there is no test for a bad diaphragm, just
hold it up to the light and if you can see no pinholes or cracks,
continue to use it.
And when you stop to think about it, what does two years really mean?
Two years of aging is one thing, two years at 200 hours per year for
one flier is not like two years of 50 hours per year for another.
That's why I asked the Bing folks if there was any test that could be
done, rather than just arbitrarily change it.
