It,s not just the compression ratio but also the temperatures that the cy linder head reaches that demand higher detonation resistance from the fuel . There are many posts in the archives addressing octane measuringsystems. I fly with 100LL becauseit's handy at the airport s but I"m certain you'd be ok with 93 octainfuel. Yet, on I believeZodiac's site they say 93 Auto Gas "MoGas" is acceptable. So,are there any REAL WORLD answers to this? I am not interested in hearingabout what JABIRU recommends or what the warr anty states; just real runningrunning engines histories. I ask this question because I'm looking to build or buy aLSA and cost is always an issue. Barry, I flew for about 65 hrs on High Test BP which used to be the old Amoco White gas. Since they all have gone to Ethanol by the Governors decree here in Florida I have switched to 100LL. the engine ran smoother and cleaner on the MOgas. Ethanol free gas is still available at some marinas but cost as much as AV gas. Bobby

I have a KitFox classic 4 with a 2200.Is it necessary to have Ram air or- can the air filter-draw from inside the cowl attached directly to carb? I am aware the vacuum hose has to be attached to the air filter.I tried the Jabiru factory filter, Pete has been great, but there is not enough room to mount the ram air filter box. BOB
