    From: "James, Clive R" <clive.james@uk.bp.com>
The only issue with cowl air as I understand it is loss of power if the air is warmed by the engine, can't imagine it's much. The Jab engine being a clean one should mean your filter with last Ok. Or is there something else I forgot? ________________________________ From: owner-jabiruengine-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-jabiruengine-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Tex Mantell Sent: 11 January 2010 00:24 Subject: Re: JabiruEngine-List: Ram Air I have a model 4 -1200 clasic with the jabiru 2200 and I use air from inside the cowl and have no problems. I have a model IV with a 2200 Jabiru, and I found room to install the air box as delivered by Pete back in 2005. You might have a larger air box, as they have changed them over the years. With my Rotec TBI, when I pull on the "carb heat" the engine actually picks up 40-80 rpm, and the fuel flow meter show a gain in fuel used by about .2-.4 GPH. This could be caused by my particular installation. Be aware that the Sonex-type planes use only an air filter, and no air box with their Jabiru installs, so it must work. If you DO go with the air cleaner only and no air box, how will you deal with the carb heat issue? The problem I found with the algore additive is that is made my fuel caps hard to remove an I suspect messed up my fuel flow turbine. I suspect the seals were affected. Also, maybe our elected "leaders" should provide $$$$$$$$$$$ funding to slected "climate scientists" to gather data to support the additive's contribution to the current global cooling. :) Tony Sent from my iPhone On Jan 11, 2010, at 10:12 AM, "Ivan" <imap8ntr@cox.net> wrote: Hi Tony, Great ! maybe the additive may help clean up the pollution in the "garden state." lol Ivan ----- Original Message ----- From: FLYaDIVE Sent: Monday, January 11, 2010 7:09 AM Subject: Re: JabiruEngine-List: mogas fuel Jabiru 3300 Wanted Hi Tony: I'm from NJ and being we are a Dam-o-cratic state it is NOT possable to get MoGas without the Al Gore Additive. Just for the record, ethanol in fuel predates the climate debate by about 20 years, back to the second time we were trying to get off the Arab oil tit. Now, it's just another give away to big agra and big oil. Wanted to repost this as my original post morphed into a discussion about mogas. *Am looking for a runout or rebuildable Jabiru 3300 engine at a good price. Prefer hydraulic lifters. Would also consider a later model 2200 with hydraulic lifters. Please contact me off list at : lvuman@gmail.com <lvuman@gmail.com?subject=Re:%20Jabiru%203300%20Wanted&replyto=fa9ea4801001081815u5a2f44f2r4da63e97e21c4999@mail.gmail.com> Thanks in advance.
