After a short time I moved #2 probe to 5 inches down on # 6 so that I had two operating probes on # 6. The two readings on #6 were the same. I then moves #2 back to its proper location and have not looked back. I expected to see a difference but in fact I saw none. If you use the 4 inch distance on all six cylinders, the readings for 1,2,3, and 4 will be from mixed exhaust gases.
