What RPM are you doing your "Mag" Check at? What's a normal drop? I was trying
1800 RPM and am not getting a noticable drop, also not getting a noticeable
drop when I kick in the carb heat?
Engine has about .9 hr of ground run time on it and we're still working out some
kinks.
I guess we call a "mag" check a coil or orgnition check on a Jab?
I'm using the Grand Rapids EIS and noticed that there are two sensitivity settings
on the tach, but I want to get some go no go parameters from some folks.
Thanks

The Jab engine manual has all these operating limitation parameters. I do
my mag check at about 2000RPM and the drop parameters I think are less than
100RPM drop and less than 100 from side to side. This is from memory but I
know the manual states these figures. I have these figures printed in my
engine run up checklist. I never get a carb heat drop unless there is some
icing in the carburetor. Not exactly sure why but I think it has something
to do with the Bing being set up as "altitude compensating."
