    Subject: Low RPM J3300
    From: Peter Thomson <peterlthomson@gmail.com>
A friend recently adjusted the throttle linkage on his Corvus/Jabiru 3300, and now finds he can't get above 2400RPM (previously 2900). He says the carb opens fully to the stop, and the butterfly is wide open. The RPM readout is steady, not erratic for any RPM on his Dynon. He has not been able yet to verify the RPM independently. Any experiences here ? thanks Peter CZAW CH701SP / 912ULS

As to no RPM drop with carb heat application on the ground, I ditto that. I believe the low amount of air running over the heat muff helps cause this. You will notice an RPM reduction if flight with carb heat once you get flying. Good luck, -------- David Gallagher 601 XL/Jabiru 3300 First flight 7/24/08 Upgraded 3/19/10 150+ hours and climbing! Good luck, Because the spark plugs are only a couple inches away from each other, there will be very little mag drop. Some of us have flown WITHOUT carb heat for several years, so dont expect too much from that either. In short, it is not a Lycon engine with the plugs on opposite sides of the cylinders, nor does it have an ice-making venturi carb like the Marvel-Dribbler or Strombad. I just check the switches while taxiing out and note if it is revving up on takeoff. If the one mag is not working, you will find it out quickly when you hit the switch, but you can have a dead one in the air and not know it. IMHO Doug Koenigsberg
