From: "Tim Juhl" Has anyone ever experienced carb icing in a 3300? If so, which airframe was it in and did you have any trouble clearing the ice with carb heat? Thanks! From: japhillipsga@aol.com Tim, a couple Januarys ago my grandson and I were flying in my XL at 7.5k in north Georgia heading to Tennessee when we ran into cloudy show weather. It got even colder and colder and the engine pitch and feel through the co ntrols changed gradually. Did not pick it up right away. Then I noticed the rpms dropping a little and with the snow I figured carb ice. I pulled the carb heat knob and in a couple minutes the rpms increased to max cruise. A real non event. I left it on for the remainder of the flight and landing. H ope that helps. I just finished my modifications and have 2.5 hours into Ph ase I again. It was a pain to tear a flying airplane apart, but after 5 mon ths of effort the XL-B is a strong flyer. Mine gained 35 pounds. I know you r pain, but figure if you bust butt you can be flying by spring. Best of lu ck, Bill -----Original Message----- From: Tim Juhl Sent: Thu, Feb 3, 2011 9:01 pm Subject: JabiruEngine-List: Carb ice? Has anyone ever experienced carb icing in a 3300?
