Are automotive fuel line and band clamps unacceptable? Is fire sleeve recommended? Aeronautically yours, Ian Heritch 3300 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 03:09:20 PM PST US Subject: Re: JabiruEngine-List: Proper Fuel Line From: Martin Hone Ian, Two things to take into consideration. Is auto fuel line acceptable to your inspector, and are you comfortable with it ? Most LSA aircraft are using firesleeved automotive fuel line and hose clamps without problem. It is hard to use AN fittings when using a Bing carb. My advice is to use the best quality auto fuel line rated for unleaded and ethanol fuel and firesleeve it. Can't say I've seen flexible fuel lines in an engine bay without fire sleeve. though I suppose if Aeroquip style hose was used that wouldn't be so important.
