Subject: Pressure Fluctuation on 3300 Jabiru engine
    From: "James, Clive R" <clive.james@uk.bp.com>
You may recall I had some oil pressure issues and a concern about pressure fluctuations on my 3300 engine. Vic (Jab owners) has been good enough to post two videos on U tube which show the pressure jumping on my 3300 and not jumping on my 2200. Bear in mind I'm hand cranking the prop and so the pressure is dependent on how fast I'm going. The Gauge is a 60 psi (4 bar) one. The camera phone is right on top of the engine so the sound is a bit sharp. http://www.jabiru.flyer.co.uk/oilpump.htm Appreciate any comments. I have written to Jab in Aus asking for help and feedback. Regards, Clive

huh? exactly what is your concern. The gauges appear to be acting the same to me. Besides, you are hand cranking the prop and the speed of the oil pump gear is fluctuating as you spin the prop. How does it act running? Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=350504#350504

When it's running the gauge needle goes into a blur. Look carefully at the 3300 video, it swings up and down according to how fast I'm turning the prop but drops quickly every time the pressure builds up enough to pop the relief valve. The recent cooler busts is my concern, that and low oil pressure in flight, several times which seem to have been quite random. Basically performance of the oil system that doesn't make sense and doesn't make me comfortable. Engine has done 35 hrs in the air.
