I suppose that during a touch & go you could have just focused on the runway during descent and then the nose could have been too high of an angle to see the ferris wheel after rotation. Even if you saw the fair during the pattern I think it is plausible that you could not know that there was an obstacle to watch out for if you had just aborted a landing and couldn't see around your nose? This year they placed the Ferris wheel close to the end of the runway. Apparently the aircraft was coming in to land and decided to go-around.
