T87, First, the Bing fitted to Jabiru engines (2200 and 3300) is a 94. The 64 is used on Rotax 912 series engines. Which jet drilled out to 1.6 mm are you talking about? Some folks have enlarged the idle AIR inlet as part of the "economy tuning kit" installation, some have enlarged the jet in the bottom corner of the float bowl. If your question about the idle screw refers to the idle MIXTURE screw on the bottom of the carb, for winter weather it should be turned out about 1 to 1.25 turns from gentle stop. Turning out enriches mixture. For summer temps, a good starting point is about 3/4 turn out (a bit leaner than winter). Which states that As standard the inlet to idle jet circuit is too small and does not flow enough air.Cheers Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=361685#361685

    Subject: 10 bar cooler
    From: "MHerder" <michaelherder@beckgroup.com>
Just wanted to say that I'm extremely happy with the install of my 10 bar aeroclassics cooler on my jab 3300. I'm flying a zodiac 601 HD in Texas, we had record heat this year. With my 10 bar cooler, at 108 degrees f the engine ran within it's parameters right at 210. I did have to open the oil cooler cowl opening about 3/4" to accomodate the extra depth, but if done carefully the FG/bondo work is minimal. Just makea clean cut down the middle, on both sides, open it up 3/4" or so and then glass it in. I will say that I could have spent more time tweaking every single baffle seal, cooler duct and working more magic, but in the end... The 10 bar cooler was an acceptable solution and the temps are very cool even in extreme conditions. I'd at least recommend looking into it if you're likely to encounter temps over 95 degrees for a while. That's my pirep. I can't say that if I'd have screwed around with it for another 10 hrs of flight testing I couldn't have gotten the temps down, just that installing the 10 bar was probably easier, and gives a better margin for even worse conditions. i.e. flying to OSH in late July from Texas while heavy. Now I'm working on getting better cold starts, but I at least think I know what the issues are. I enrichend the idle mix today and made sure the throttle was closing fully. It has made a difference so far. BUt I wont know until I let the engine get cold again and try tomorrow. After all, the 3300 never has a prob starting if its even "kind of" warm. 95 hrs and very happy so far. The Jab just takes a little tweaking and the understanding that this is experimental, so experiment (a little) or to your own level of comfort. -------- Zodiac 601 HD Jabiru 3300 Wood Sensinich 64x47 Finally Flying Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=361694#361694
