I completed the 10 hour inspection on the Jabiru and a lot of minor problems.
I went to fly today and the tach would not work. I switched leads, but not dice.
The alternator showed a charge at high power, but the tach would not come
back on. I had installed a 10k Resistor on the wire leading into the RDAC.
I remove it and re-installed the wire and still no dice.
I'm using a MGKL Odyssey G2.
I need a tach as CFR 14, 91.205 requires it.
Anybody using something else on the Jabiru?

The GRT EIS6000 is very reliable and requires no special additions except to connet
the pulse wire to the alt.
We use those on out jab powered Lightnings and have never had a problem. I also
have one in my lycoming powered Pitts.

I'm using a UMA analog tach. At low rpm it dropped to zero. The problem
is that the alternator AC is basically floating against ground. The fix
was to add a resistor between ground and the opposite alternator wire.
The resistor may vary, but you can start with 47Kohm 1W.
If the tach used to work in the initial 10 hours and now doesn't, then
something has changed during your inspection. Go over whatever
electronics you touched..
