I'm putting a call-out to see if anyone else is (or has already) undertakin g the project of CONVERTING AN EARLY HYDRAULIC LIFTER ENGINE (supplied with the original solid-lifter cam) -- BACK TO SOLID LIFTERS. =C2- I know of five others, but would like to see if there are more out there. =C2- I will be going this route and am in the =9Cinformation gathering =9D stage. =C2- Thanks for the help, Mike mymvagusta@yahoo.com =C2- =C2- ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 09:29:05 AM PST US Subject: Re: JabiruEngine-List: CONVERTING AN EARLY HYDRAULIC LIFTER ENGINE BACK TO SOLID LIFTERS. From: FLYaDIVE Why would you want to go backwards in that direction? And I don't think it is possible. Where or how are you going to put the guides for where the push-rods contact the cam? I would really like to hear the reasoning for doing such a thing? I am just beginning the fact finding and once I see a clear path, I intend to do this. Hey Mike: After two episodes of lifter problems, two sets of new lifters, including new camshaft, I am in the middle of a top overhaul and conversion to solid lifters. (3300 SN 1712) I am putting in the original solid lifter camshaft, & intend to use Chevy small block solid lifters (.842 diameter) My engine has a total time of less than 430 hours & other problems I do no t care to delve in to. Each is on his/her own concerning our experimental Jabiru engines. Lynn In a message dated 3/30/2013 12:09:19 P.M.
