Colin,
I have an early 2200a on my mk3c.That means mine has the shallow oil pan.It
has a vent system that is piped to a pint bottle behind the seat at floor
level and a second pipe through a 90 degree fitting and hose that extends t
hrough lid and then out the bottom of the fuselage
.I had to vacuum that bottle every 10 hrs or so to keep it from over flowi
ng.It was about half water on the bottom and half oil on the top.I tried a
pcv valve in an up hill section of the vent line and it helped some, but I
built a 1"by 2" by 6 in high 5 vane separator that stands vertical with the
1/2 in.connection tubes both angled slightly down hill. I now have only w
ater in the catch bottle.I'll try to find a picture of it and send it to yo
u on the list.

Colin:
I have a few tricks you can try - They are dependent on how your breather t
ube is configured and how the engine is mounted:
Coming off the engine use a flexible rubber hose and put a "pigtail" in the
run. A 360 Deg circle.
Again with the flexible hose install a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation)
Valve as HIGH as possible in the tube above the height of the engine and m
ake sure the check valve points down in the closed position.
If you have say a 5/8" hose for the breather tube - Reduce it near the end
tio half the size. You can use a step type fitting.
Face the Breather Hose INTO the oncoming wind.
And of course you can use any combination of this ideas.

Mark 3x-tra. The engine doesn't burn any oil but I get a lot of blow by o
n each flight from the crankcase breather tube. I'm sure with the engine e
xposed the airflow over the vent is causing a vacuum and sucks it out. The
vent reservoir doesn't trap the oil. Any one have a way to allow the cran
kcase to breath with out loosing a lot of oil? Sure get tired of cleaning
oil off the tail feathers each time I fly

Does anyone have experience with the Sensenich ground adjustable carbon prop on
the 3300A engine? It looks like a beauty and I need to dial up the rpm's a
bit to get within the Jab specs. I posted a while ago about static rpm's being
2500 at most. I have to push it to see 3000 in flight. I've been cruising the
neighborhood at 4gpm at 2400 rpm. This is with the sensenich 64X47.
