Subject: | piston pin offset |
For those who are interested,
I scrutinized all the information I had saved on this topic, (as well as ca
lled and talked to the =9Ctech=9D people at a few Piston manufa
ctures),
In every case the conclusion I draw is
=C2-
The pin will TRAIL the crank rotation not lead it.
(If your goal is to minimize slap)
=C2-
This is regardless of how you are viewing the engine, where the intake/exha
ust valves are, which way is =9Cup=9D, or anything else.

If their consensus is that piston pin should lead the crank rotation to max
imize power, I believe them.
(Incidentally the same way that Jabiru (by accident or design) specifies th
e pistons should be fitted).
