Subject: JabiruEngine-List: Engine Mount Doughnuts

Guys 

Today I removed the cowling to re-torque the head bolts on my 3300. 
The guy from two hangars down was helping to remove it and noticed some chafing
on the ram air ducts. 
After he left I noticed there was about 3/32" gap from the back of the engine mount
to the front of the rubber doughnut on both sides of the engine mount. 
I have found this on several aircraft using Jabiru engines. 
My question is has anyone had experience with the higher durometer rubber mounts
sold by Sonex.

I would like to use them but wonder if it would transmit vibration to the fuselage.
Does the original doughnuts have a time replacement factor? 
Any info would be helpful.
